• The Dirt Therapy Project

The Dirt Therapy Project (TDTP)  was founded in 2018 by USMC Combat Veteran, Jonathan Hagerman. The program was started as a way to merge love of the great outdoors (especially on mountain bikes) and a passion for helping other service members and their families. Originally being started in Texas, the program has grown with chapters across the country. In 2024, TDTP merged with VFF and now operates as a program under the Veterans Future umbrella. TDTP is now HQ'd in the nation's MTB capital,  NorthWest Arkansas.

The Dirt Therapy Project

Helping Vets Find Community Through Mountain Biking

Our program brings over 30 years of riding mountain bikes and an obsession with the dirt to our veterans. We like to think of ourselves as Uncertified Dirt Therapists.

New rider? Don't worry, The Dirt Therapy Project caters to riders of all skill levels from beginner to advanced. We help riders who have a basic MTB skill set to enjoy local trails and advance their riding through a community of talented individuals. Don’t have the gear you need? Contact us and see if we can help.

In addition to the Graduate Performance community, VFF is partnering with UHP through The Dirt Therapy Project (TDTP), and Master Trail Builder Robbie Wells to develop 15+ miles of mountain biking trails for their Veteran students, staff, and other Veteran MTB riders in the region. Ranging from mild-to-wild, these trails will accommodate all skill levels and offer some of the most exciting features in a region already known as the mountain biking capital of the country.
